Account security and avoiding scams

There are also a number of steps you can take to make your account even more secure. These are outlined below.

Passwords

  • Always set a complex password that you can easily remember.
  • Never write it down or share it, not even with us!
  • Avoid using a dictionary word. Instead use a combination of numbers, letters and other characters.
  • You can change your password any time via the my account > details section of your Slots Temple account.

Email Security Best Practices

Always look out for the following, which could be a potential indicator of cyber-crime:

  • Emails insisting on urgent action.
  • Emails containing multiple spelling mistakes and/or poorly written English.
  • Emails with an unfamiliar greeting.
  • Inconsistencies in email addresses.
  • Inconsistencies in links and domain names.
  • Be wary of suspicious attachments.
  • Emails requesting passwords.

If you are ever unsure if an email is genuine then please contact support@slotstemple.com or submit a ticket via our customer help centre here.

Device Security

Cyber-criminals often use a wide variety of methods to try and install malicious software (malware) on devices. This malicious software allows the criminal to capture sensitive information as you type. The best defences against this are:

  • Updates and patches – keep your device up to date by installing the latest application and operating system updates.
  • Anti-virus software – install a trusted anti-virus solution, and keep it updated.
  • Be cautious about any links and pop-ups you click on. If you're not sure about the origin of the link or pop-up, then do not click it. Always think twice before potentially installing any software from untrusted sources.
